Wired to Eat by Robb Wolf

Wired to Eat was a follow up to Robb’s first book The Paleo Solution—which is another great suggestion. Wired to Eat is an easy-to-understand book that lays out some foundational concepts to progress your health through food. The information is clear and concise, and some strategies will most certainly place you in the right direction and help you get to the next level of well-being.



Why We Sleep by Dr. Matthew Walker

Sleep is one of the most important tools to health. In summary this book looks at the latest scientific research discoveries on sleep, revealing insight on how sleep affects both our cognitive and physical performance in both the short and long term. Walker provides insight on how we can harness sleep to enhance mood, energy levels; help regulate hormones; prevent Alzheimer’s, cancer, slow down ageing; increase productivity and so much more.



Grain Brain by Dr. David Perlmutter and Kristin Loberg

Grain Brain looks at the devastating effects refined carbohydrates, and even healthier whole grains have on the structure and development of your brain and body. This book offers science based, in-depth explanations on how certain foods can impact our genetic makeup, possibly causing anxiety, headaches, ADHD among other health concerns—leading to longer term health complications—and how the removal of these certain foods from our day-to-day diet can have profound positive results.



The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung

I could honestly recommend all of Dr. Fung’s books. In this book however, Dr. Fung’s theory of obesity not being caused by calories, lack of exercise, or poor self-control, but about hormones. This is something which I couldn’t agree more on. By identifying the true culprits in obesity—such as insulin resistance—we are able to increase the chances of weight loss and cut back on the yo-yo dieting.



The Longevity Solution by Dr. James DiNicolantonio and Dr. Jason Fung

Dr. James DiNicolantonio has been my favourite author over the past 3 years. Dr DiNicolantonio is a Doctor of Pharmacy and cardiovascular research scientist who has written an array of amazing books on minerals, immune health, and sports performance that I highly recommend. The Longevity Solution teaches us that by incorporating proven, long-standing wellness traditions and abolishing fads and unnecessary supplements we can unlock the secrets of healthy ageing and living a fuller, healthier life.
